Forgotten Sin (Avenging Fate Book 1) By Brian Hershey

41wKvzQx0jL._SY346_

“Every once in a while I stumble across a book that quite literally blows me away in every sense of the word. Forgotten Sin by Brian Hershey is a fast-paced thriller that is stark and harrowing, with a troubled protagonist looking to escape her horrible past that is magnified with a phenomenal evil she has little control over.” https://walkerputsche.wordpress.com/

Doctor Mya Bishop has a well-established career at the University of Cambridge as a lecturer on medieval mythology and a very promising future ahead of her, but she is plagued with a harrowing secret from her past and cursed with lycanthrope, where she has the ability to shape shift into a wolf. Mya is in fact over two-hundred years old and successfully manages to hide her secret identity from the world, but she is also desperate to be free from her curse and seeks the help from an animal specialist, Marcus Holland, who Mya offers a substantial amount of money to come and observe her in her animal form.  Initially Marcus is disturbed to learn what Mya is and is reluctant to stay until he has a change of heart and decides to try and find a cure as everything he witnesses with Mya´s wolf form defies all logic.  After an experiment goes horribly wrong Mya´s real identity is discovered by a prominent member of parliament who is hell-bent on hunting her down and killing her while using his position of wealth as a means of getting tasks completed.  All of which leads to a deadly hunt where the hopes of survival on each opposing side are slim.

It’s not often I come across a book where each chapter is from the perspective of alternating characters’ and I have to say I found it highly immersing and a refreshing change to some of the werewolf fiction I have read before. I expect an exciting sequel awaiting this female heroine.

Daygo’s Fury: The Daygo Stream By John F. O’ Sullivan

index

“Daygo’s Fury is dark fantasy at its best and is a great beginning to a special series. I can’t wait to read the follow-up.” https://walkerputsche.wordpress.com/
In the opening chapters the reader is transported into the world of Liam, an orphan and slum dweller, who believes he is destined for greater things. Liam’s story deals with powerful issues and takes the reader on a journey into a violent and dark world where every day is a struggle to survive in a poverty-stricken world that’s gone mad.

In the following chapters the reader is introduced to Niisa, a forest dweller, who lives in a tribe that thrive to have an intense relationship with Daygo, a celestial being. Niisa story also deals with powerful issues and takes the reader on a deep spiritual path of human failures and triumphs where the magic in the story is both beautiful and disturbing.

Both young man’s stories alternate throughout the book and although I can’t yet draw the comparison to Liam and Niisa because they live in different worlds, both dealing with completely different issues. I have no doubt in further instalments that these two very remarkable young man’s paths will cross at some point and it will be interesting to see what is in store for both of them.

With regards to O’ Sullivan’s writing, the narrative is gripping, the plotting is tight, yet what struck me as more amazing were the voices of these two main protagonists, as they drive the story along with both their emotional weight and power.

The Brigstone Man By Anne Hammerton

“The story is slow to gather momentum but rises to an unexpected rousing finale with a few astonishing twists that I didn’t see coming.” https://walkerputsche.wordpress.com/

The Brigstone Man follows main protagonist, Sally Wincott, a thirty something career woman who is forced into hiding when her father, a well-known anthropologist is murdered after discovering something of prodigious historical and religious significance. Sally lives in fear that the men who murdered her father and his team are trying to find her and kill her for the information her father gave to her in his papyrus about the Brigstone find. However, regardless of the threat and disruption it has caused her over the last eight months she is determined to delve into the mysterious secret by travelling to various parts of the world only to discover that she is the only living person remaining that knows the life-changing discovery.

Overall, I found the story to be engaging and full of mystery and I look forward to reading more of Hammerton´s work in the near future. The only reason I cannot give this book a five-star rating is I felt some of the dialogue was forced and a little too formal. With regards to the writing style I found it pretty impressive, despite a few ´tell´ rather than ´show´ scenarios which could have been mastered better.

The Ghosts of Ravencrest (The Ravencrest Saga Book 1) By Tamara Thorne & Alistair Cross

51BCxHhZyyL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_

“The Ghosts of Ravencrest is a classic style gothic horror story, with a modern twist that I found utterly compelling and very difficult to put down.” https://walkerputsche.wordpress.com/

The story follows main protagonist, Belinda Moorland, who is a college graduate, working as a waitress in a greasy spoon café. Belinda’s fed up with her mundane lifestyle and annoying roommate and takes the job as a governess at the Ravencrest Mansion in the exclusive area of Devilswood. Belinda is unaware that the mansion has a sinister and flagitious history that includes suicide, murder, devil worship and witchcraft. It’s not long before Belinda is caught up in the middle of the Mansions family legacy and is sent on a mission that threatens to change her own destiny and the family’s history for the better or for the worse.

Overall, I found the story to be dark with sinister sexual undertones. The story is very well written and superbly crafted and is a great asset to the authors. This book merits a full five stars and I look forward to reading more of the saga and would recommend this book to adult readers who enjoy horror elements mixed with erotica.

A Writer With A Unique Voice

indexThe Blue Witch
By R.L. Baxter

Only a writer of immense confidence and talent can fashion a story that chronicles an ordinary young women from her London home to a magical and fantastical place. R.L. Baxter demonstrates his ability in this short story that follows a misguided young woman called, Ophelia on a mission to eradicate and destroy everything she dislikes with the use of her magical wands that are parting gift by goddess Athena, in the magical world of Pecopia. Instead of using the magical wands of wonder and destruction to help humanity, Ophelia uses the wands for evil and revenge that will destroy the world unless a miracle intervention can stop her from ruining humankind before it is too late.

I would highly recommend this short story to readers who enjoy sci-fi and fantasy.

5 Star Review: GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ THE UNDERGROUND KNOWLEDGE SERIES By James & Lance Morcan

The authors´ most crucial discovery is that, “Human intelligence is not necessary something you were born with or genetically predisposed towards. In fact in most instances of above-the-ordinary intelligences are usually acquired through superior learning techniques!”

Genius Intelligence is a thoroughly interesting and thought-provoking guide on practical methods, techniques, accelerated learning methods and the use of chemicals that are used to help improve IQ. The authors´ explore a great number of superior cognitive techniques of brain enhancing technologies such as, genius techniques used by the élite, outrunning the conscious mind, the high IQ diet along with many more useful modus operandi methods that are not often disclosed to the public. The authors´ challenge the old age myth that geniuses are born and not developed. They don’t dismiss that there are a minority of humans that are born with these amazing possibilities that are not fostered by educational methods, but their research has revealed that these naturally born geniuses are the exception, not the norm.

Until now, I wasn’t aware of the substance called “Ormus” aka “White Gold” that was discovered by David Hudson, a cotton farmer and wealthy businessman in 1975. Hudson discovered that when he put the unusual looking white powder out to dry in the hot Arizona sun, it radically changed – from powder to oil! Hudson went on to conduct scientific analysis of the substance and confirmed that the substance seemed to have odd properties that defy the laws of nature. Hudson also claimed that the substance can repair the body on a genetic level and Lt. Lawrence F. Frego who wrote about Ormus´ positive impact on human intelligence in his book “An End To All Diseases” agrees with this theory. With many commercial manufacturers’ websites testimonials from their customers who claim it cures a lot of serious illnesses, including mental disorders, diabetes, heart disease and various anti-aging results have also been reported, it’s no wonder a number of celebrities are enthusiastic for this drug and I along with many others will look forward to mainstream studies in the near future.

I would like to personally thank and congratulate the authors´ for producing such an informative, well researched, stimulating and exciting book that will inspire and educate many people who are looking to enhance their journey and improve their mental and physical health.
